Belgrade camp to host Halloween-themed family activities on October 1


BELGRADE – A Halloween-themed activity day for families is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 at Camp Bomazeen, 656 Horse Point Road. People can come dressed up and participate in the games.

The Haunted Woods event is for Cub and non-Cub families. The cost is $7 per person; walk-ins are welcome, according to a press release from Chuck Mahaleris, district vice president of the Kennebec Valley Scouting District.

All young people must be accompanied by responsible adults. Only cash will be accepted for the door, pumpkins, hot dishes and trading post.

Patches can be ordered at the event for $5.

All participants can participate in all of the following activities during the day: Sports and games, shooting sports, multiple crafts, decorating the pumpkin $5; cooking activity – Monster Mouth; concession stand, trading post, special guests, hayride cart, and a food and personal care drive of non-perishable and unexpired items.

Registration and registration begins at 10:30 a.m., activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the closing ceremony is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. at Parade Field.

The event is subject to change at any time.

It is a chemical-free place; people should plan accordingly. Allowed service animals are welcome; pets are not.
