Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate all things mom. The greater Grand Rapids area offers plenty of opportunities to spend some quality time with Mom to show her how much you appreciate her.

From gift boxes to crafts, there is something for everyone this year.

Quality time

Spend quality time with mom this year with indoor and outdoor activities.

Craig’s Cruisers in Wyoming leaves moms play mini golf for free with the purchase of a child pass on the occasion of Mother’s Day from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

On Saturdays, mothers and children can take a self-guided wildflower hike 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, the event is free.

Muffins with mom Little Leapers takes place at Sky Zone Grand Rapids from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The event features muffins, photos, temporary tattoos and more!

Gifting and shopping for mom

While gifts aren’t everything, they can’t hurt to show Mom that you care.

A Mother’s Day Sidewalk Slamboree Flea Market takes place Sunday at 11 a.m. at Wally’s Treasures Antique Mall. Take mom shopping for a unique and unique piece that she will cherish forever.

Buy your mom a Mother’s Day wine box from Robinette’s Apple Haus and Winery. The box includes chocolates and wine as a thank you.

A large group of graduates from the SpringGR Small Business Training and Coaching Program will provide a one-stop-shop for last-minute Mother’s Day gifts this weekend at Woodland Mall.

DIY for Mother’s Day

Made with the heart, DIY gifts are sure to touch mom’s heart.

Brush Studio hosts a Mother’s Day Door Decorating Course at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Participants will be able to paint an 18-inch-high flowerpot wood door decor.

Blandford Nature Center hosts a Mother’s Day hiking and craft event from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Mom’s wine getaway

May is Michigan Wine Month, so host two celebrations in one trip and check out some local wineries.

Cooper’s Hawk Vineyard and Restaurant in Kentwood, Hudsonville Vineyard in Hudsonville, Cascade wine cellar cascading and Arktos meadery in Grand Rapids there are local wineries that provide moms with great night out opportunities. Check with each winery for their directions in person before making the trip.
