Easter is almost here, and this year we can finally catch up with friends and family, fill the holidays with fun things to do, and make the most of spring! And WOW – there’s a lot going on in Norwich and Norfolk to get excited about. So get ready for an Easter you won’t forget.


1. Stravaganza Easter Egg Trail

Hop along Place Chantry at Easter, from Saturday April 2 to Tuesday April 19 for a FREE Easter Eggstravaganza course. Hunt all 12 eggs and solve the puzzles on this self-guided trail around the mall for a chance to win a prize worth over £120!

2. Theater

Do not miss a trip to the theater at Easter because there is so much to see! Head to the Norwich Puppet Theater catch red riding hood April 2-10. This retelling of the classic folk tale contains a rich blend of puppetry, music, song, inventiveness witty direction and dialogue. Or catch The Elves and the Shoemaker on April 16. Elvis Schumacher worked all his life to create the most beautiful shoes, but now he’s going through a tough time, can anyone help him? With magical puppets, intricate design and original music, this show is loads of fun. Both shows have morning performances for all ages and afternoon performances for ages 4 and up. Tickets £9 / £32 for a family of four.

There’s also a lot to shout Norwich Theater Royal this Easter. The family classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe plays out April 5-9. Enter a magical, frozen land far away and watch the noble King of Narnia, Aslan, stand up to the evil White Witch. Tickets £23 – £42. Prefer a show with a little more music? Why not visit Wuthering Heights April 12-16. Through music, dance, passion and hope, this adaptation transforms Emily Brontë’s masterpiece into a unique theatrical experience. Tickets £25.50 – £37.50. You can also book your ticket for Milkshake Live! On April 17, this spectacular new show takes the stage with two presenters from Milkshake and Milkshake Monkey’s Musical!

And don’t forget to visit Norwich Theater Performance Hall to see The Smartest Giant in Town from April 16-18. A musical adaptation of the bestselling book, this heartwarming tale is sure to put a smile on your face. Tickets £12.

3. Workshops

Do something fun and creative this Easter with a family workshop! AT Norwich Theater Royal On April 5 and 8, you can take part in several workshops. Dive into the fancy dress box, explore children’s books and create your own stories with puppets at Play Your Way. No reservation required for this free activity from 2 years old. Also on April 5, Tot’s Tales and Drama features imaginative stories and play, exploring themes from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Tickets £5. How about an Imagination workshop with theatrical activities for children? Tickets £8.

Be creative with the workshops of Norwich Puppet Theater. At the Mythical Mates Children’s Workshop, you can create your own mermaid, minotaur, fairy or troll puppet and take it home! 6 and 7 April, from 6 years old, tickets £9.50. What comes out of an egg? The family workshop takes place on April 8, 9 and 15 for ages 4 and up. Get into the spring spirit with this Easter-themed activity and create mini puppet characters. Tickets £9.50.

4. Escape Games

A good old-fashioned escape game is another great way to spend some family time. And you’re spoiled for choice in Norwich! Enjoy a jaunt through Norwich and get some fresh air with City Escape Games external challenges. mystery of history offers fun indoor and outdoor games, and Cryptic Escape and Escape hunt have lots of themed games to enjoy too!


5. Holkham Hall

Hall Holkham is always a beautiful day, but at Easter there are even more reasons to visit! With standard admission to the venue, you can also enjoy great activities from April 2-19. Like spring-inspired storytelling with Paul Jackson in the saloon, Easter crafts in the old kitchen, an Easter hunt and Charlie Cheesecake and his magnificent magic show that takes place over the Easter weekend!

6. Easter egg press

Board the Easter Eggspress at Bure Valley Railway! It’s sure to be an eggciting day for the whole family. And the best part? There is a free Easter egg for each child at the end of the Easter course! Tickets £16 adults, £8 children, under 5s free.

7. The Great Easter Egg Exploration

Spring has arrived and the wildlife gardens of Pensthorpe Nature Park have hidden treasures to find… This fun family Easter egg hunt comes with plenty of other activities to keep you busy, including free arts and crafts, park tours and more. April 2-19, adults £13.95, children £11.95, under 3s free.

8. Deepdale Farm

The Critically Acclaimed Pantaloons Theater Company Performs Great Expectations in the Brick Barn at Deepdale Farm. Bring folding chairs and a picnic (or grab some delicious food from the cafe) and sit down to enjoy this captivating theatrical performance of the captivating story of Charles Dickens. 16 April 7pm, adults £13.50, children £8, family tickets £37. It is recommended to bring blankets and warm clothes as the barn is not heated.
