JOHANNESBURG – Kgothatso Mdunana’s parents said arrangements are being made for them to travel to China in August to seek his spirit in accordance with their cultural beliefs.

Family and friends gathered for a memorial service Thursday for the 24-year-old engineering student.

It is understood that she dived to her death from the 13th floor of a building in China nearly two months ago.

Mdunana’s remains were repatriated on Monday after the family gathered enough money to finally send his body home for a dignified farewell.

Her mother, Namesa, said they were slowly healing after the painful loss of their child.

“I am healing slowly, although the pain will not go away overnight. We will go to China. We plan to go the first week of August, although the embassy has told us we need to quarantine for 14 days in one city and 14 days in another. So we will be there for over a month in China.
