Kids and family movies and series to watch – Manila Bulletin

And they’re all new under Netflix’s “See What’s Next Jr: Southeast Asia”

It’s spring break and parents are generally stressed about how to keep their children busy. In addition to signing them up for extracurricular activities, they should also have a set schedule at home, including watching new movies and series.

The good news is that Netflix has just launched its “See What’s Next Jr” for the Southeast, and it was the first Kids & Family event held from July 8th to 10th here in Manila, Philippines. The country has hosted visiting families from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The kids were treated to a fun weekend filled with carnival-themed games and a viewing party with lots of cuddling via a slumber party with Rica Peralejo and Kean’s family. Ciprano and Chynna Ortaleza’s family are also present.

Guests were treated to a taste of Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, which airs on July 14. Other shows to watch include:

There was also a workshop, teaching parents how to manage family features on Netflix. After all, it’s important to create a fun and safe viewing experience for the whole family. Here are a few.

  1. Personalize your kids’ viewing experience by creating a Netflix Kids profile and using parental controls.
    a. You can choose maturity ratings or block issuances. When you set a maturity rating for a profile, that profile will only see TV shows and movies that match that rating. You can also block specific TV shows and movies.
    b. Lock your profile or other profiles on your account. If you want to restrict access to a specific profile on your account, you can protect it with a profile lock pin.
vs. Enable or disable autoplay. Netflix has two autoplay features that you can turn on or off for each profile in an account.
    D. Access the consultation history of a profile. You can see the TV shows and movies that have been watched on each profile in your account.
  2. Yes, you can download shows.
Use the download feature and have your kids’ favorite show or movie handy before you head out to a summer destination. To download, open the Netflix app on any device, select a TV show or movie, hit download, and you’re on your way! Note that not all titles are available for download.
  3. Add character to their summer and profile avatars.
Help your kids change their profile icon to some of the most beloved characters from Netflix shows and movies. You can change the icons by going to your account settings and choosing “manage profiles”. After selecting a profile, you can edit it and change the avatar.
  4. Discover the mystery box.
The mystery box feature gives kids a fun way to discover their next favorite shows and movies, or reconnect with a familiar face. Children, parents and caregivers can take advantage of this feature by following these three simple steps:
    a. Log in to a child’s profile
    b. Find the child’s “favorite line” at the top of the homepage. This line is character-driven to connect them more easily and vividly with the characters, shows, and movies they love the moment they turn on Netflix.
vs. Hover over the glittering “Mystery Box” to discover a title new to you.
