The City of Rochester Hills hosts its annual Hills Festival on Wednesday, June 29, with free family activities and fireworks to celebrate Independence Day.
The festival will take place at Borden Park, 1400 E. Hamlin Road, on the southeast corner of Hamlin and John R. Roads.
It starts at 6 p.m. with activities for young people including a petting zoo, inflatables, a rock climbing wall, and a take-out craft provided by the Rochester Hills Public Library.
Food truck vendors will offer food for purchase including cotton candy, fried Oreos, hot dogs, elephant ears, mac and cheese, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken tenders and more.
At 6:45 p.m., attendees will be able to view Disney’s “Encanto” movie from the blue diamond field, according to a statement from the City of Rochester Hills.
The Rochester Avon Recreation Authority will host cornhole matches on the tennis courts and a dodgeball match on the roller hockey rink.
Finally, the choreographed fireworks display begins at 10:06 p.m.
The event is free and sponsored by companies such as GFL, Papa Joes, Beaumont Health, Pro-Line, Bolyard Lumber and Meijer.
