Bus driver shortages are being felt by school bus companies across the country. Thanks to the hard work of the Osseo Region School Transportation Department, the district bus lines are staffed; however, families are encouraged to make a plan in the event that their student’s bus trip should be delayed or canceled. Every effort is made to prevent this situation; for this reason, if a delay or cancellation of a bus line is unavoidable, the news can be shared with affected families with little notice.
If a school bus trip is delayed, the Bus Status online site and phone app will be updated to indicate the delay. If a bus route needs to be canceled due to a driver shortage, the bus status will be updated to display this information, and families will be notified via a SchoolMessenger email and automated phone call.
All students are required to attend school every day, unless they have an excused absence. If a bus line cannot be covered due to a shortage of drivers, families will be asked to transport their child (ren) to school. Late arrivals due to delayed or canceled buses will be excused. If you have any concerns about your student’s attendance or your ability to transport your student to school in the event of a canceled bus trip, please contact your school principal.
